Geelong’s Best Summer Happy Hours!

Some of our favourite Geelong based happy hours!

Having recently expanded to Geelong, the team at BLKBoard have been hard at work exploring everything that Geelong has to offer, including its best Happy Hours and other food and drink specials. We think we have found our favourite five happy hours and food specials for 2017. Stay tuned for many more BLKBoard Blog posts over the coming months delving into this cultural hub, and our favourite Geelong pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and more!

The House of Nean – 73 Yarra St, Geelong VIC 3220, Australia

The House of Nean has continued to impress Geelong locals since opening. There is a huge range of international street food available and a modern contemporary bar and restaurant with tasteful street art throughout. They have a happy hour everyday from 4pm to 7pm that includes $5 Pints of all tap beer, $5 house wines and $5 Golden Fries. Definitely one not to miss during 2017 summer in Geelong!

The Geelong Hotel – 69 Yarra St, Geelong VIC 3220, Australia

The institution that is the Geelong Hotel has something for everybody. From a beautifully renovated indoor dining area & bar, to its amazing outdoor beer garden which will be a hive of activity come the summer months. Team BLKBoard love nothing better than settling in there with some mexican beer, coronas, pinot, and a few delicious cocktails topped off with some fun afternoon tunes.

The Friday afternoon happy hour is our favourite special at The Geelong Hotel currently, which includes a happy hour from 5-7pm including $5 Furphy Schooners and House wine plus $1 oysters, sport on the big screens and live acoustic music. Show us a better way to end your week, and we will show you a liar!

Wah Wah Gee – Cunningham Pier, 10 Western Foreshore Rd, Geelong VIC 3220, Australia

Wah Wah Gee is one of Geelong’s best waterfront restaurants and an amazing place to enjoy the atmosphere of Victoria’s second largest city. Management pride themselves on taking the best of the Melbourne restaurant culture bringing it to Geelong with their own little touch. It’s a great spot to enjoy a casual catch up with friends, without the price tags that can come with Melbourne dining.

The menu here is 100% Asian fusion, and is designed to share with friends. The majority of dishes are $20 and under, which means you are never going to blow the bank, no matter how hungry you are!

The staff have also outdone themselves with the drink and cocktail lists. BLKBoard love the “All day” happy hour consisting of $10 Mason Jar Cocktails!. Some great options available including Aperol Spritz, Cherry Bomb, Tokyo Moon, The Zest Express and more!

Unwined140 High St Geelong, Victoria

Unwined is just that, the perfect place to unwind after a long day work, and enjoy some delicious wine, live music and great value food. To top it off, this place is a\ a bottle shop and bar in one, so you can take a bottle of your favourite wine home for a night cap!

Their Thursday night happy hour is one not to miss, and includes $5 House wines and selected beers from 5pm to 7pm!

The Telegraph Hotel – 2 Pakington St, Geelong West VIC 3218, Australia

Looking for a place with plenty of craft beers on tap, a great menu combined with a very extensive wine list? Then look no further than the Telegraph Hotel.. This is a great place to meet up with your friends for lunch, or after work, and enjoy one of Geelong’s favourite pubs.

And for fans of oysters? Drop in on Thursdays for an Oyster Happy Hour from 5-7pm. Includes natural oysters for $1 each, Kilpatrick style for $2 each and a rotating Chef’s Special for $3 each.
